Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician
The essential responsibilities of this position include installing molds into molding machines and setting up secondary equipment and tools in a safe and timely manner. This candidate must always strive to improve the quality and stability of the manufacturing process.Other duties are as follows: Adjusts closed loop controllers to optimize machine performance and cycle time. Reads job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and determines sequence of operations. Maintains or improves the quality of the manufacturing process. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Sets and adjusts process controllers. Analyzes, defines and corrects molding process and general machine problems. Provides guidance to maintenance personnel regarding machine malfunction symptoms. Directs and trains other setup mechanics and machine operators. Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance to specifications. May act as lead person in molding area. Performs other duties as assigned.The successful candidate should have a minimum of five years plastic injection molding experience including processing and trouble shooting. Employee must be willing to work a 12 hour rotating night shift.Candidate must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
