Plant Manager, Minerals Processing

Sterling Partners is a leading Executive Search firm representing some of the country’s top chemical, mineral, and petroleum processing companies.  Our client is one of the largest producers of mineral-based products for the consumer, industrial, automotive, animal nutrition, and food ingredient processing markets. Products produced include cat litter/cat box fillers, industrial floor absorbents, as well as animal nutrition and food ingredients processing. The company is listed on the NYSE and has six manufacturing facilities in North America and 1000 employees. The company fosters a strong team-oriented and collaborative work environment.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is seeking a Plant Manager for its facility near Tupelo, Mississippi. This facility is located just outside one of the state’s fastest growing and progressive cities, and is within driving distance of Memphis. This Plant Manager will hold significant responsibilities in planning, management, financial, quality assurance, safety, and environmental/regulatory compliance. These responsibilities include:Directing the implementation of the annual operating plan for the plant. This includes production and inventory planning as well as the procurement of raw materials and staffing.Building and leading a team to execute the operational and financial plans. Approving the annual financial operating budget ($15 million to $20 million).Leading implementation of new quality initiatives (including training), and ensuring that safety procedures are in place to address all aspects of plant safety.Assuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to all operational aspects and capital expansions.This position reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing and Logistics, supervises 3 – 10 direct reports, and oversees as staff of 50 – 75.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:B.S. in Engineering, Processing, or related discipline.Minimum of 10 – 15 years experience in a process-related environment such as chemicals, minerals, metals, petroleum, etc.Experience in the processing of minerals-based products such as clay, bentonite, fullers earth, calcium carbonate, kaolin, attapulgite, diatomaceous earth, metals, coal, activated carbon, etc. would be considered a very strong plus.Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory-management role in a plant or processing environment.

COMPENSATION: This position offers an aggressive six-figure base salary package, plus an annual bonus of at least 20%.  Competitive benefits package including full medical, matching 401-K, and paid relocation.
