Overview:                    The primary objective of the Area Continuous Improvement Leader is to lead the business in coordinating and executing an annual CI plan which creates and sustains a continuous improvement culture that utilizes CI tools and philosophies driving the business to continually achieve corporate objectives.Duties and Responsibilities:  * Facilitates identification and completion of training needs i.e. AMPS workshops, 20 keys, White Shirt and team building activities, lead manufacturing.* Facilitates identification and completion of CI events i.e. such as Kaizen, PIE training to reduce waste to yield concrete operational and product savings, productivity gains, release cash, and align with AOP objectives.* Facilitates identification and sharing of best practices and ideas across departments, ARM sites and other companies.* Maintains effective suggestion and recognition systems. * Assures that site practices visual factory and lean philosophy* Assures that follow-up actions are driven to closure and results reported to management and stake holders.* Assures that predicted savings are tracked as performance programs in financial/OPS reports. * Utilizes benchmarking data between plants, other companies and internal site trends.* Continually maintain CI Leader Training requirements. Responsibilities may include supervision of indirect hourly support person. Indirectly will be supervising various team members during team based CI activities and projects. Qualifications:Must continually demonstrate CI management style, intellect and philosophy. Five years of documented success in lean activity preferred. Successful completion of three months of concentrated classroom and on-the-job continuous improvement leadership training required. Essential computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Lotus Notes or its equivalent. Position will require some travel. Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Conversational Spanish a plus.Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as determination of test reliability and validity. Dimensional stack up analysis. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
