Position Overview and Key Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for planning and managing manufacturing and procurement activities to support overall corporate objectives.  Planning and execution of manufacturing and procurement should yield 100% on time delivery at the lowest possible cost.  Duties / responsibilities may include the following:

 

·         Develop and implement planning system(s) to meet overall  needs of business

·         Lead and / or support development and implementation of lean manufacturing techniques

 

·         Plan production activity to meet the overall needs of the business

·         Act as primary interface to enter and release shop orders to meet customer requirements

·         Develop and maintain production schedule to meet customer requirements and maximize use of manufacturing work force

·         Communicate with Sales regarding lead-times and production / delivery schedule changes and respond to inquiries on customer orders as required

·         Track and report on schedule vs. actual production performance 

 

·         Plan procurement activity to meet the overall needs of the business

·         Act as primary interface to enter and release purchase orders with suppliers

·         Monitor and expedite material /part deliveries to meet production and / or customer demands

·         Act as primary interface on supplier performance and / or quality issues

·         Communicate with Production regarding delivery or quality issues

·         Develop and maintain supplier base to meet business needs, including overall capabilities, total cost, and quality

·         Research new / alternative suppliers to meet needs for both existing and new products and provide recommendations to management

·         Track and report on schedule vs. actual delivery performance

 

·         Act as primary interface to monitor and control inventory levels

·         Perform necessary transactions and maintain accurate inventory records

·         Track and report on inventory levels

 

·         Continually maintain knowledge of existing and new products / services, including required base of supplier capabilities

 

 

 





































Qualifications:

·         1-5+ years related planning or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

·         Prior experience with contract negotiation and administration ·         Prior MRP / ERP system experience – DBA Next Generation Manufacturing Software experience a plus

·         Strong analytical skills

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Computer skills to include proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel

·         Bachelors degree in business or related field
