You will unleash the potential of your talents as never before.-Combustion / Performance / Emissions (CPE) Engineer on the Current Product Support (CPS) team supporting the Cummins MidRange B/C/L series engines. Use prescribed technical engineering methods to develop and solve issues on the performance and emission recipes on products. -Make sound decisions in pushing the mechanical stress and design limits of the engine components to achieve best performance.-Design review performance status vs. profile with key customers.-Release hardware and software to producing plants. -Analyze and correlate data utilizing 6sigma tools, recognizing discrepancies in the results. -Document results in technical reports.-Use data to derive solutions or conclusion to discrepancies.-Develop test methods and improve existing test methods.-Develop and coordinate test plans at test cell and/or vehicle-Troubleshoot performance problems-Perform theoretical analysis or simulation to predict and/or better understand test results -Strong engineering background with emphasis in Thermal Sciences-Computer skills, including PC and Unix-Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Access -Understanding of complex performance & emissions tradeoffs-Internal Combustion Fundamentals-Experience with performance testing-Experience with test cell operating systems, engine controls knowledge, engine performance simulation and analysis tools -An understanding of engine subsystems and their interaction as it impacts engine performance and emissions-Project Management Skills-BS In Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred, but not required)Benefits/Company information:Explore superior growth opportunities and enjoy progressive advantages like our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, stock options, Domestic Partners coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
