Payroll Specialist with Giampolini & Co

Summary: 

 

In this role you will; review foreman sheets, timecards, work orders, material orders and label with job numbers and distribute to accounts payable or for filing in job file.  Write new foreman sheets and time cards for hours called in by telephone.

As well as prepare material orders, enter payroll data, process new hire/unemployment and disability data, update tax worksheets, and administrative or HR duties where required.

 

Responsibilities:

 Review staff time cards, enter edits and process salary payroll.Meet with Superintendents to get their approval of hours and jobs.Maintain sick, vacation, new hire and termination records for all employees.Enter payroll data for all divisions.Review and proof payroll entries, make corrections as necessary.Process extra requests such as lay-off or replacement checks.Update payroll tax worksheets and call in tax payments on time depending upon IRS rules.Process new job information regarding certified payroll or OCIP projects.Field employment verification telephone calls and written requests.Process garnishment orders and revocations.Process unemployment and disability payroll information requests from the State or Feds.Prepare garnishment vouchers for accounts payable.Prepare weekly certified payroll reports and OCIP reports.Field payroll questions from estimators, management, foremen and employees.  Month end closing of payroll:Payroll cleanup, including corrections and manual adjustments through mini-runsRun month end reports and file reports in binders.Assemble data for monthly reporting such as 401(k), medical/disability/life insurance, etc.Assemble data for monthly union; prepare reports and vouchers for accounts payable.Assemble data for monthly Workers Comp; prepare reports and vouchers for accounts payable.Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.Oversee Payroll Assistant’s workload and ensure accuracy.Statistical report to management.Process new employee and exiting employee paperwork.

Requirements:

 Associates/Bachelor's Degree preferred More than 5+ years experience Cost Accounting experience is a plus Union experience is a plusAbility to work independentlyMust be detail oriented and organizedSolid decision making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analysis and judgment skills
