Interpretation and implementation of customer packaging requirements. 2. Responsible for assisting in the development of Materials practices, and system development. 3. Design and write Material Department Procedures and Work Instructions. 4. Design supplier packaging for point of use in manufacturing and assembly lines.5. Design supplier packaging for use in pull systems in manufacturing and assembly lines.6. Create, change, and delete packaging specifications for products.7. Package Identificationa. Programming the format of new labels, changing and maintenance of existing formats.b. Familiarity with AIAG and UCC label requirements, label generation hardware and software.8. Maintain an updated knowledge of plant procedures and processes.9. Manage workloads to ensure a timely response to our customers.10. Design, coordinate implementation, and maintain customer/supplier returnable packaging programs.11. Manage expendable packaging process and inventory levels, with the goal of eliminating or minimizing use of expendable packaging.12. Tests, analyzes, and selects materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.13. Initiating and managing cost saving projects to meet Department, Plant, and Corporate goals. Skills:' Good mechanical aptitude and familiarity with interpreting CAD drawings.' Strong analytical, organizational and detail orientation skills required.' Strong verbal and written communication skills.' Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.' PC skills including working knowledge of spreadsheet and work processing software are beneficial.' Familiarity with label software programs is helpful.' Working knowledge of packaging materials' A BS Degree in Packaging is required.' A Certified Packaging Professional Certification is required.' Experienced in Lead concepts.' The position requires a long strong cross-functional background and excellent project management skills.'
