PRODUCTION LEAD

We are currently are seeking a dynamic, responsible, teamplayer,   Production, Lead. There are 2 positions available, 2nd and 3rd shift. The specific requirements for the position are as follows:

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

· Sets production line speeds as instructed by supervisor to ensure a balanced flow of work through the line.

· Ensures staff complies with all good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.

· Ensures constant supply of components (e.g., tablets and containers) to production line.

· Resolves routine problems by reassigning staff, training staff and meeting with others to discuss/resolve quality or other issues.

· Uses small hand tools to make minor adjustments to or repair equipment.

· Facilitates the smooth rotation of employees on a line.

· Trains and cross-trains operators in all functions of production line.

· Organizes change-over from one product line to another to minimize time when no products are being packaged.

· Sets up and operates filing and labeling equipment.

· Packs product into boxes, seals and loads onto pallets.

· Disassembles/sanitizes equipment and reassembles.

· Inspects product for defects.

· Utilizes calculator and hand-held computer to perform routine calculations and maintain various production and cleaning logs and records.

· Performs duties in compliance with safety rules, standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Certification:   None

Experience:

Requires a complete working knowledge of Pharmavite’s packaging operation, typically resulting from a minimum of seven to twelve months of experience as a Packaging Line Technician. Some familiarity with computer guided equipment operation would be useful.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Requires:

· Basic mechanical ability to use hand tools, take apart and reassemble equipment

· Proficient English ability; fluent speaking, reading and writing skills to effectively communicate with staff and supervisors, able to read, understand and teach operating procedures and manufacturing instructions, and complete production and cleaning logs

Physical Requirements:

Intermittently lift loads of up to 25 lbs. Pulls/pushes boxes of product on/off line and/or pallets. Stand/walk for full work shift. Listen to and provide verbal directions to staff. Respond quickly to production line problems by solving minor problems and requesting assistance for problems beyond their expertise. Manual dexterity to manipulate filling and labeling equipment controls, small production containers on a production line, and hand tools to assemble/disassemble parts of equipment.

Environment:

Constant exposure to noise levels loud enough to require employees to wear hearing protection. Warm temperature levels, fumes, vibration, dust, etc., sufficient to cause minor discomfort. The employee must wear protective eye wear, hair net, uniforms, safety shoes and latex gloves when handling the product.

Safety:

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
