PRCESS ENGINEER

Summary : Under general direction, completely and independently plans, directs, and coordinates assigned manufacturing processes of highly complex workpieces in an industrial plant by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·  Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.

·  Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

·  Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.

·  Estimates production times, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

·  Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, time standards, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

·  Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.

·  Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs and determines reasons for any discrepancies.

·  Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs

·  Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.Education and/or Experience: Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
