Primary Reponsibilities: Continuously improve engineering capabilities in new product development across RSA. Coach & mentor team leaders and project teams in phase-gate process deliverables. Increase the level of organization competency in New Product Development  activities including: 1) Schedule: Project Management Processes, 2) Quality: Reliability Planning/Management & FMEA's, etc., 3) Cost: Project & Product Cost Capture during design. Assess project execution quality and phase-gate readiness prior to gate meetings. Be a critical quality step in the phase-gate process by recommending readiness of project for gate reviews. Identify coaching requirements of team leaders/members and develop appropriate plans. Ensure team leaders are appropriately prepared to review plans and progress with sponsors. Ensure team leaders are fully prepared for Management Gate meetings. Facilitate project team meeting to meet specific Phase-Gate deliverables where capabilities are less than desired. Raise the level of competency by leading the efforts to develop NPD project charters, project plans, FMEA's, etc for specific projects as required to improve NPD execution quality. Review NPD project charters and business cases. Question assumptions as appropriate. Work with all functions to improve forecast accuracy of NPD business case projections to improve forecast accuracy of RSA Innovation Revenues. Implement Best in Class processes for improvement of NPD and RSA engineering including: NPD-2.0, the Adaptive Process for new technology and market feasibility assessment, Engineering Budget Management Process, and Engineering Capacity Management and Resource Allocation Processes. Facilitate the implementation of DFSS capabilities and robust engineering processes in RSA. Build on NPD-2.0 to guide the organization in implementation of CTQ management, DOE, QFD, and control planning as required, with the goal of increasing the quality of NPD products from launch.
