Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Contact Information Reference Code: 2152 Job Description OEM Quality Manager PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:   Provide enterprise wide quality leadership for OEM customers building strong customer relationships, using Six Sigma methodologies and managing CAPA. Ensures the quality system related to the OEM business meets customer and company requirements, as well as driving continuous improvement.       MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:   Perform advanced quality planning, establish quality control processes and work cross functionally to improve lead times and eliminate waste of OEM products and services.   Leads Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvements. Provides Six Sigma methodology for problem solving, tracking results and assuring sustained improvements on OEM processes and products.   Evaluates warranty data, customer complaints and returned product from OEM customers to determine root cause. Establishes failure analysis data requirements (Proclarity). Uses data or test results to improve robustness of product/process designs and to reduce potential field failures.   Manage OEM corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and deliver quality communications. Facilitates customer conference calls, visits and meetings and coordinates with manufacturing management to ensure a full understanding of company performance, customer requirements and improvements.   Build and institutionalize advanced quality planning for OEM product including FMEA, Quality Control Plans, SPC, FAI, PPAP and Product/Process Capability. Provide quality education, training programs and materials.   Perform OEM contract/design reviews and defines product requirements. Establishes acceptance criteria including specifications, First Article inspections, in-process inspections and process control (SPC) for monitoring / improving performance. Implement advanced measurement systems and perform Gage R&R.   Become trusted customer champion providing credible product expertise, timely communication and reliable actions.   Provide leadership and development of company-wide Quality policy and plans (ISO 9000); facilitate or lead development of departmental level quality plans and procedures.   Observes all applicable safety rules, reports unsafe conditions and potential safety hazards. Performs other related duties as assigned.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:   Four-year college degree, Technical degree preferred. Extensive knowledge of / experience with Statistical Process Control. Understanding of Quality Management and Planning Tools. Proven quality / process improvement experience. Leadership / supervisory experience.   OTHER DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS:   Extensive quality education and training. Experience in developing training/education programs. Proven training and facilitation/coordination skills.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:   Operate hand tools (precision measurements tools). Lift (from all positions) normal maximum weight of 50 lbs. Travel domestically, locally and internationally 10% - 25% Work within factory setting that requires personal protective equipment (PPE).   TRAINING / SKILLS REQUIRED:   4-year college degree preferred 5 years experience quality processes. Technical product drawings and computer aided design (CAD). Great computer (MS Office, Minitab) and communication skills. Mastery of Lean and Six Sigma tools Quality Certifications a plus (CQE, CMQ, CQA, CQT) Key Words: Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), Quality Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), First Article Inspections (FAI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Capability, change agent, proactive.   SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:   Provides indirect work direction.   SUPERVISION BY OTHERS:   Limited.   REPORTS TO:   Reports to the Director of Quality Job Code : 2152 Division/Department : Technical Products/Hoffman Travel Required : 20-30% Skills : Manufacturing -> Lean, 6 Sigma Pentair is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
