New Product Development Champion

Job Summary: The New Product Development (NPD) Champion will be responsible for driving priority projects through the NPD tollgate process.  This position is accountable for bringing new products to market (1) on-time and (2) on-budget for both development costs and product cost target. Responsibilities: · Drive priority projects through the NPD tollgate process, coordinating efforts through Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and service organizations.  Develop and manage detailed project action plan, identify, and resolve all related issues.· Initiate new product ideas, technology, and innovation through the early involvement of suppliers that will provide a differentiated solution to the Customer value drivers. · Drive new products and concepts through the Crane Merchandising Systems Vending NPD process to include sku optimization and product rationalization.· Ensure, working with Engineering, the development of detailed new product specifications that support the business case requirements.· Work with the Engineering and Procurement teams to initiate a process that allows CMS Vending to develop a supplier relationship and commitment at the initial stages of design concepts.· Facilitate, with Procurement, the supplier relationship to ensure not only early involvement in the design process, but when required have the supplier assume total responsibility for design, manufacture, and testing of product to meet new product specifications.· Work with Procurement to ensure timely, accurate, and the best total cost solution to support product specifications. · Work with Procurement and Engineering to verify through every tollgate, where applicable and feasible, that new product costs targets are being met. · Lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and prevent product problems before they occur.· Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost efficient business solutions. Recommend process improvements to supervisor.· Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.Job Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in a technically related field – Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and  experience· 7+ years of hands on proven experience applying project management and leadership skills, delivering hardware-related projects on-time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. · 5+ years of proven supply chain management skills demonstrating ability to facilitate the introduction of innovative and creative solutions to control and reduce costs.· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to make timely, effective, and fact based decisions· Excellent teamwork and communications skills with all internal functional areas and external suppliers.· Knowledge of Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).· Intimate knowledge and use history of Microsoft Project Working Conditions · Primary work location in Bridgeton, Missouri.· Travel required. In return, you’ll enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefits package including tuition reimbursement, Medical, Dental and Company matched 401K.  For consideration, please apply online at www.net-apply.com/13944. Visit our Website at:www.CraneMS.comC R A N EMerchandising Systems12955 Enterprise WayBridgeton, MO 63044Equal Opportunity Employer   Company: Crane Merchandising Systems Location: Bridgetion, MO 63044 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Manufacturing/Production/Operations Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education: Bachelor's Degree Company: Crane Merchandising Systems
