Network Administrator

Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI) has an opening for a full-time Network Administrator position in New Castle, PA. This position will require day-to-day management of the EGI WAN (20+ remote locations) as well as support for the LAN at each EGI location. This salaried, exempt position will report to the Senior Network Administrator and is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: WAN management to include working closely with Telco providers for circuit installation and troubleshooting.   Have a very strong understanding of WAN routing including router configuration and various VPN technologies.

 Local area network management to include: network cabling, switches, servers, wireless, file/print, with broad scope of various cross discipline security services.  Understanding of User/Group management Directory services in both Microsoft Active Directory and/or Novell E-Directory.    Experience with file server backup technologies. Work with Business Unit managers and employees to help solve business issues or challenges (including but not restricted to issues relating to the computer system). Review and analyze software and hardware needs, recommending changes and upgrades to ensure that they are meeting the management information needs, while maintaining compliance with other corporate mandated systems. Troubleshoot and help support day-to-day problem resolutions at Business Units. Be available for emergency situations that may arise outside the course of the regular workday or week. Assist the Senior Network Administrator with EGI-wide projects concerning training, information systems or technologies such as WAN, telecommunications, acquisitions. Provide general backup and support to EGI Information Technology Department at other EGI business units on an as needed basis. Work closely with business units and PBX vendors for the setup and  configuration of telephones and telephone system management.

 





JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent. Minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in Information Systems in a multi-site environment.  Strong communication/interpersonal skills. Strong analytical/problem solving skills that result in quality solutions and concluding projects in an efficient manner. Strong organizational and project / time management skills. Good written communication skills.
