NVH Test Coordination and Execution' Conduct noise and vibration testing in support of new product development, current product support, and rapid problem solving situations' Evaluate engine noise sound quality and provide program direction based on sound quality data analysis' Work closely with engine design and development groups to incorporate low noise features into Cummins products' Resolve noise and vibration problems related to products and their application in customers' equipment' Coordinate project work with internal and external customers and suppliers' Participate in work planning and scheduling to ensure efficient use of resources' Develop and implement effective test plans' Direct technicians in the execution of project work' Report and document test results2. NVH Design and Analysis Support for Application Engineering and Engine Development Teams' Integrate noise reduction considerations with engine development teams' Develop design considerations for low noise engine components' Work closely with engine development teams and OEMs to achieve NVH targets3. General Noise Technology and Strategy Development' Use DFSS Methods to advance Noise and Acoustics technology' Participate in Worldwide NVH Functional Excellence Actively' Participate in process- and technology- improvement projects' Provide training and mentoring in noise and vibration topics' Actively contribute in NVH technology development and process improvement ' B.S. with 3-5 years experience or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, focus in noise, acoustics and/or vibration' Strong background in Diesel engine operation as well as engine acoustics and vibration' Experimental noise and vibration measurement experience, including sound power and sound intensity ' Knowledge of relevant instrumentation and signal processing techniques' Analytical noise and vibration experience with tools such as SYSNOISE or Virtual.Lab a plus Cummins is an Equal Opportunity Employer
