Metallurgist

Leading manufacturer of precision tubing products seeks a qualified candidate to fill the position of Metallurgist in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Participating in technical issues with manufacturing and Process Improvement Teams.Review specifications and drawings.Evaluate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.Plan processing steps and evaluate processes.Act as technical support for product development.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree (required) in Metallurgy or Material Science with emphasis on metals. Appropriate course work in physical metallurgy, mechanical metallurgy, heat treatment, etc. are a must.

· Internship or 1 – 2 years experience in metals manufacturing environment with thorough understanding of manufacturing processes (desired).

· Basic experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, etc. are a must.

· Able to develop written instructions and procedures for processes.

· Capable of offering support and guidance to resolve technical issues in manufacturing processes.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Problem solving skills based on technical knowledge.

· Able to prioritize work in a multitask environment.
