Melt Shop Maintenance Supervisor

Gerdau is seeking an accomplished Melt Shop Maintenance Supervisor to join the team in Sand Springs, OK.
Job Responsibilities
· Supervises and coordinates all melt shop equipment maintenance (preventive and breakdown) and related services including existing equipment and installation of new facilities
· Total maintenance responsibility for all melt shop equipment and related systems, (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic, etc.) and material handling equipment
· Reviews all salary, disciplinary, and performance appraisal actions initiated by subordinate supervisors and provides on-the-job training and guidance to subordinate supervisors and hourly-rated personnel
· Responsible for all preventive and operational maintenance of the Sand Springs melting operation
· Establishes and maintains compliance with standard practices for control of maintenance and repair methods including a preventive maintenance programs
· Responsible for coordinating construction projects in the melt shop
· Responsible for the proper interpretation and administration of corporate, plant, and departmental policies and programs
· Properly interprets and administers corporate, plant, and departmental policies and programs
· Responsible for inventory security
· Actively supports and participates in maintenance and melt shop team building efforts
· Ensures proactive application of all environmental practices and guidelines
· Recommends capital expenditures to provide safer, more efficient, and higher quality maintenance operations
· Oversees and coordinates maintenance planning to maximize operation objectives
Minimum Qualifications
· BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
· 5+ years experience as a General Supervisor
· Strong leadership and computer skills
· Knowledge of MAXIMO or other CMMS preferred
· Background in union shops preferred
· Background in preventive/predictive maintenance systems preferred
