Mechanical Engineer I or II - Torch Design

Opportunity for a successful candidate to take a hands-on mechanical engineering and design role for the current and next generation of plasma torch designs. Hands-on mechanical design and engineering of plasma torches and components that support the plasma cutting requirements. Define and implement new and innovative torch designs which support market / customer needs. Support product testing and regulatory requirements. Provide necessary sustaining support to existing products and customer interface requirements Work in a cross-functional team environment to assure system level integration and design for manufacturability. Share expertise with other engineers in the organization. Demonstrate engineering and analytical skills in evaluating thermal and structural analysis - application of FEA tools is a plus. BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, College graduate to at least 4 years experience (for Engineer II) in a mechanical design field which can relate to the plasma industry. Strong creative ability and understanding of industrial design concepts that has been applied to product designs. Strong skills and experience in solid modeling / CAD. Use of SolidWorks necessary in this position. Analytical and FEA capabilities and experience Knowledge in DFMA and manufacturing methods - particularly electronic assembly, machined parts and plastics. Good written and verbal communication skill
