Materials Supervisor
One of A.C.Coy Company’s strategic Clients located in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area currently is looking to fill the position of Materials Supervisor.
Job Description
This position reports to the Materials Manager and will be responsible for the supervision of Shipping, Storeroom and Receiving. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Accountable for results in supervising staff, cost control, associate morale, and employee relations. Resolves employee problems and complaints. Prepares instructions regarding material control systems and procedures. Maintains a safe work environment on a daily basis and conducts monthly safety meetings. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Studies receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for material handling activities. Confers with supervisors and managers to coordinate flow of materials or products. Recommends measures to improve production and inventory control methods and performance. Implements changes in procedures to increase efficiency of material control processes. Prepares a variety of production and materials reports. Coordinates facility DOT efforts and power truck licensing. Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Special knowledge, skills and ability requirements: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Problem solving and project managements skills are essential Strong organizational and analytical skills Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and associates at all levels of the organization Initiative and innovation in identifying opportunities for improvement Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Power Point Demonstrated ability to take the lead to drive change and process improvements. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Supply Chain Concepts
Preferred: SAP and Access
Education and experience requirements: High school diploma or equivalent A minimum of 4 years experience in materials management, inventory control or related discipline.
Preferred: Bachelor degree, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related discipline* Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Product and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification Previous supervisory experience*
*Required for EX 13 level
