Materials Buyer

Materials Buyer

Oberg Industries, Inc., a world leader in manufacturing solutions located in Western Pennsylvania, is seeking a Materials Buyer.  Responsibilities include preparing instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures; analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis reports; pursue materials contracts to maximize Oberg's purchasing power; review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy; process order for equipment purchases; oversee and work in conjunction with shop personnel to maintain a variety of inventories.

The incumbent must have working knowledge of materials testing requirments and knowledge of ASTM and ASM materials specifications.  Minimum 4 years purchasing experience, preferably in a metals or medical manufacturing environment.  APP or CPM preferred.
