Material Manager

Position Description

The Material Manager will manage all aspects of material for Keco, a plastics injection molding company.  These aspects include, material engineering, plant floor processes, receiving, receiving inspection, buffer/inventory management (finished, raw, and component), purchasing, and supplier development.  The Material Manager is part of the Engineering team and plays a vital role in providing materials for production, setting inventory levels, Engineering materials with our customers, and introducing new products or improving existing products.

 

Position ResponsibilitiesPurchase raw material and components to defined buffer/inventory management Purchase supplies for maintenance and manufacturing operations Negotiate the pricing on purchased items Manage and develop processes for materials and supplies Work with customers on material requirements Work with suppliers on providing quality materials and supplies on time Work with engineering team to introduce new products and new materials into the operation

 Requirements for PositionBachelors Degree in related field (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)5 years experience in materials management or inventory controlWork experience in a manufacturing or distribution facilitySuperior organization and people skills
