Job Description Material Handler I   Role Objective:Maintains control of inventory as it moves from receiving to raw stock locations and semi-finished goods locations. Ensures correct inventory balances and material identification is maintained throughout the process. Ensures that inventory locations are clearly identified and maintained and that inventory is continuously aligned with automated inventory records.  Primary Responsibilities:1) Train how to accurately manage the movement of material stock receipts, inventory transfers, and bin locations.2) Train to transact inventory transfers, bin location assignments and decommission records and submits appropriate requests for inventory adjustments within MAPICS.3) Learn to maintain the identity of material as it moves through the inventory management process.4) Learn to maintain alignment between automated location records on MAPICS and the physical identification of those locations.5) Trains in and carries out documented (ISO9001) procedures regarding material transfers, bin locations, material returns, etc. 6) Follows HAZMAT storage policies and procedures.7) Maintains housekeeping per safety training and requirements.8) Drives continuous improvement in both professional skills and business process development.  General Education and Background Requirements:1) High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred for promotion eligibility).2) Basic computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Inventory Management software).3) Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.4) Experience with material handling equipment (hand trucks, high bay storage, etc.).5) Good written and verbal skills.6) Knowledge of inventory control practices (lean cell replenishment preferred).7) Demonstrates problem solving skills and teamwork.Education: High School/GEDJob Level: Entry Level
