These factories supply sales offices in Germany, Spain, USA, South Africa and Singapore. SolarWorld is currently tooling up the USA's largest solar wafer and cell production facility in Oregon to help serve the growing demand in the Americas. SolarWorld supplies solar silicon wafers to the international solar cell industry as well as modules, kits and turnkey PV systems to distributors and retailers world-wide. The SolarWorld Group also sells off-grid solar power solutions that make an important contribution to the sustainable economic growth of developing countries. Under the name Solar2World the group has pooled this ethical commitment to a sustainable future through solar energy. Reporting to the Head of Production Planning, the Master Scheduler/Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and /or monitoring final approval of products through a complete production operation. The position will provide recommendations for changes to the Bill of Materials (BoM), labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions. The position will interface with production, purchasing, logistics, sales, and engineering teams to insure optimum flow of product to meet the customer's needs. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain a schedule that optimizes capacities for customer service, cost and quality. • Communicate issues and objectives to various departmental groups company-wide • Adjust plans and the BoM based on actual performance and customer needs with consideration to cost impacts • Suggest and implement alternatives for capacity utilization including SolarWorld's internal production operations or external supply companies. • Supply information to controllers and sales operations as required. • Provide analysis on production performance to determine possible issues of meeting the desired plan. • Report analysis to management in statistical form to support analysis and possible conclusions. • Develop scenarios for meeting customer demands. Scenarios will be evaluated for efficiency, cost, and appropriateness to meeting company goals. • Coordinating work order release and closure with the Production teams. • Primary user of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Will be responsible to maintain key elements such as production orders and the master plan. • Troubleshoot possible breakdowns in the production processing system and implement solutions to root cause problems. • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports to management. This Position is ideal for an individual who is looking for an opportunity to make a difference - and help the company grow and respond to customer requirements quickly. The Master Scheduler/Production Planner requires 8 years of related experience. A Degree in Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred, however, experience may substitute for education. It is highly desired that the individual have APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
