The Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind, a large non profit manufacturing organization located in South Seattle, has an opening for a Marketing Manager.
Summary:
Seeking a marketing professional eager for an opportunity to set the marketing direction for a successful, 90 year old Seattle based social enterprise.
Responsibilities: Gather input from internal and external stakeholders, develop, facilitate, and implement an ongoing marketing plan to further the Lighthouse mission and address double bottom line focus on blind employment and strong financial results.Focus on highest impact activities that will increase Lighthouse market share for our products.Identify necessary resources and manage the organization’s comprehensive branding efforts.Manage appropriate use of internal experts and external consultants.Actively participate in a succession plan focused on insuring there are qualified blind applicants in the succession pool.Develop, support, maintain and facilitate the implementation of business/marketing plans for sales team.Help plan and administer pieces of marketing budget. Organize and implement client relations including:
§ customer communications
§ satisfaction surveys
§ customer development activities
§ customer eventsWork closely with VP of Strategic Business Development to implement appropriate customer communications.Work as part of the communications team to insure consistent, effective messaging to all constituencies, with primary responsibility for communicating with customers for Lighthouse products.Work closely with Lighthouse sales staff to insure effective leveraging of marketing efforts. Work closely with Communications Coordinator to develop marketing collateral.Help implement corporate communications activities with Communications Director and Communications Coordinator. including:
§ external communications and systems
§ some internal communications and systems
§ public relations efforts
§ external vendors and consultants
§ customersSupport the Lighthouse field service representative and Call Center staff regarding any communication needs and sales materials for shows, events, seminars and other similar activities.Help to develop/improve and administer marketing database which includes customer and product information, mailing list applications, access to financial reports, etc.Design and plan quarterly marketing trainings for other Lighthouse departments.Help oversee Lighthouse electronic marketing efforts including input on Web site design and maintenance.Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Five to seven years experience and increasing levels of responsibility in marketing function. Marketing of commodities in a business to business or business to government environment preferred. Knowledge of cause related or social marketing.Ability to take initiative and to work as part of a team.Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experienceProven track record in developing and administering a marketing program.Knowledge of or experience with blindness issues a plus.Knowledge of philanthropy and interest in Northwest fundraising practices. High level communication skills. Ability to work with diverse populations. Knowledge of American Sign Language and/or competency in other language a plus. Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.Available for occasional travel.
