Marketing Analyst
Job Summary:
Usually works with minimum supervision conferring with manager on unusual matters. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity, and may be found in functional areas including but not limited to marketing, finance, materials, procurement, engineering etc. Has appreciable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate existing aftermarket sales and gross margin trends to identify strengths and weaknesses in both sales and pricing strategies while providing specific recommendations. Designs information systems to provide management with specific data, utilizing knowledge of data processing principles and mathematics to provide clear and concise reports which highlight changes in sales and margin driven by volume.Provide the Materials department with market intelligence to support improved inventory forecasting of existing product both short and long term. Provide valuable feedback by capturing data from both the equipment and aftermarket sales organizations along with the warranty department.Develops and presents reports to assist Management in resolving Product/Process problems. Prepares reports, summarizes and communicates data pertinent to assignments, but also noting tangential effects to direct management staff as well as other departments.Interprets complex data to identify issues to assist other employees, particularly managers, in problem resolution.Coordinates various types of information, from various sources and users, in order to input and format data for problem identification and resolution proposal.Summarize, via reports and presentation, information so problems can be analyzed and resolved.
Education/Experience:
BS or BA required; MBA helpful. Five (5) or more years experience in a related field required. Prefer marketing experience especially in an aftermarket organization. Requires strong math skills such as algebra, calculus and statistics. Must be computer literate. Prefer: Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and ability to create data queries. Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills a must.
