Market Research Analyst

This position will contribute to a fact-based business culture by demonstrating the value of industry and customer data to key stakeholders, including senior management, global marketing, product marketing, customer marketing, and sales. The position reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing.  Provides ongoing collection of competitor information using publicly available information such as industry publications, web research as well as subscription databases (D&B, etc.)  Analyzes competitive information upon request.  Gathers and synthesizes competitive information from sales and other field  teams worldwide. Gathers competitive information at trade shows and industry events. Conducts literature searches, coordinates specialty searches, acquires and stores competitive literature for use across Terex Cranes Global Marketing. Produces Data Book, a compilation of industry statistics such as product shipments by type and geographies, market share and related reports. Coordinates with Industry Associations and Cranes Marketing Analysts world-wide in ensuring data consistency and integrity. Helps update and maintain a web-based database including competitor profiles, country profiles and other market data. Manages update and maintenance of frequently use statistics and economic data on key countries obtained from third parties. Manages conversion of information from third parties to XML format required for population of the web-platform. Identifies sources, gaps and tools to share data. Aids in researching and tracking trends in industries relevant to Terex Cranes. Produces frequent reports of relevant indicators across specific industries and geographies utilizing internally-available resources. Responsible for identifying new data sources, reducing and analyzing gathered data, and presenting it in a clear and concise manner. Assists in conducting research in customer satisfaction, brands awareness, and other key projects. Seeks data from multiple sources including web sites, investor reports, and syndicated research to create broader understanding of industry trends and their impact on the business. Creates data acquisition strategies and storage processes to ensure data integrity. Develops and maintain written reporting standards and procedures. EDUCATION/TRAINING Bachelor's degree is required. Specialization in Marketing/Business desired. Foreign language proficiency a plus EXPERIENCE 3+ years marketing or statistical analysis experience required Experience in global research a plus Experience in energy sector a plus SKILLS Computer expertise, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Excel (including use of pivot tables). Ability to think analytically and strategically, critically evaluate and clearly synthesize information. Strong analytical skills. Able to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations. Works collaboratively with teams; ability to effectively interact with a diverse global team. Ability to deal a fast-paced environment with changing work priorities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative. Inquisitive and creative desire to learn and gain knowledge about the marketplace. Broad knowledge in using online databases such as Nexis, Global Insights, EIU and syndicated and secondary data sources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to organize and complete multiple projects simultaneously. Must be detail oriented and analytical. Must be able to problem-solve with natural curiosity, be team-oriented, and work collaboratively. TRAVEL Willingness and ability to travel internationally - 25%.
