Manufacturing Supervisor - Second Shift
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To efficiently deploy manpower, materials and facilities at their disposal and working closely with all supervisors/managers, to provide for the timely production of fabricated finished goods and services in accordance with customer requirements and established procedures and work instructions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review routers for accuracy, allocation of material, scheduled production time, and machine specification making corrections and/or adjustment when required ensuring efficient and effective production of product.
• To monitor the workload within the fabrication work centers, adjusting manpower as needed.
• Provide the proper training and support to the operators, which will allow them to manufacture product per the customer requirements.
• Utilize the planners to provide a coordinated effort for scheduling and run efficiencies.
• Work with all available resources (planning/sales/quality/purchasing /shipping)) when anticipated delivery schedules cannot be met.
• To assist operators with question and problems arising from the production process.
• Monitors work centers for scheduling work in progress for the efficient and effective use of manpower and equipment.
• Become intimately familiar with our operating system, allowing you to utilize Oracle efficiently.
• Be able to assist in the shop when personnel shortages or extreme workloads dictate.
• Perform personnel functions and assist manufacturing manager with second shift employee hiring and reviews
• Coordination of 2nd shift work with 1ST shift supervisor
• Responsible to follow departmental procedures and work instruction as written and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Identify and report quality problems and initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities .
• Maintain a professional and constructive approach to managing human and other resources of Sealing Devices, Inc. at all times.
• Participate in employee review process.
• Any other task/activity assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the fabrication system.'
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
This position works with general direction and supervises a group of approximately 8-10 employees. Must be able to work 4pm - 12:30am, M-F.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the following skills including but not limited to, Time Management, Supervisory Interpersonal and Scheduling.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The minimal requirement for this position is a 2-year degree and 2 to 5 years of experience in the job.
