Manufacturing Process Engineer
Primary Objective of Position: To ensure that the Company’s manufacturing processes provide products that are world class in quality and reliability, and represent the best value in the markets we serve. Major Areas of Accountability: Develop, implement and optimize manufacturing and test processes. Interface with Design and Configuration Engineering personnel on new and existing product designs to assure products can be consistently manufactured to specification. Design, install and qualify new equipment, tooling and fixtures. Pursue automation opportunities. Trouble-shoot and correct manufacturing equipment / process issues. Assure accurate and complete manufacturing and test documentation (ex. operating procedures, work instructions, etc.) Provide technical leadership and training to production assembly and quality personnel. Identify and take actions to eliminate waste and drive down manufacturing costs. Act as a leader within the company in the identification, investigation and resolution of process deviations and product nonconformances / failures. Lead the definition and implementation of preventative / corrective actions. Provide support and become involved with customers and suppliers interactions as needed. Provide input to manufacturing area layouts to maximize work efficiency and optimize flow of materials. The Process/Production Engineer position will involve matrix management and may have personnel reporting directly to him/her. Qualifications (Educational, Professional, Physical): • BSME with at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of motors / motion control desirable.
