Manufacturing Engineer/CNC
SIFCO Minneapolis is a specialized provider of services to the aerospace, power, marine and industrial turbine market. We currently have an opening for an experienced manufacturing engineer to support our CNC processes.
Job responsibilities:
*Writing CNC programs using G and M code for lathe, mill and wire EDM. Conversational format, heidenhain parametric, fanuc parametric.
*Designing fixutres and writing work processes for part preparation, machine preparation, fixture loading, part loading, clamping, operator inputs for program, and inspection.
*Determining and obtaining all required tooling and holders for new jobs or improvements.
*Managing space by obtaining furniture and designating placement. Providing layout options for the shop for such things as assembling a new work cell, making room for more equipment, improving manufacturing flow.
*Trouble-shooting equipment, quality and special part issues.
*Leading re-work reduction efforts, using 5 why analysis and value stream mapping.
Required Skills and Experience:
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 - 7 yeras experiencing as a manufacturing engineer in a machining environment, or equivalent experience
*Highly skilled in writing CNC programs using G and M code
*Continuous Improvement mindset; ability to envision how manual operations can be moved to CNC applications
*Experience in designing fixturing, writing work processes, determining tooling requirements, and providing layout options for equipment
*Ability to trouble-shoot issues with equipment, quality and special part needs
*Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement/lean, including 5 why and value stream mapping
