Tyco Safety Products is a worldwide leader in fire protection and electronic security solutions. Within Tyco Safety Products, we design, manufacture, and distribute thousands of products ranging from fire detection and suppression systems, personal protective equipment and intrusion security to access control and video solutions, anti-theft and supply chain solutions. Scott Health & Safety/Tyco Safety Products is currently searching for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer with Automation experience to be located in Monroe, North Carolina. Duties and Responsibilities:1. Help guide and train other members of the Manufacturing Engineering Department. May also lead cross functional teams.2. Utilize Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), Six Sigma Skills, and Lean Manufacturing Skills. 3. Identify new opportunities and create concepts for automation projects.4. Develop advanced assembly, process and test methods for various products. Plan, design, and coordinate integration of machinery and equipment into manufacturing process, applying knowledge of machine design, programming, and using computer assisted design equipment and tools.5. Electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic design experience to design, test and install automation systems for industrial applications. o Utilize knowledge of machine design practices to creatively address project challenges. o Specify all required components for machine operations.o Program PLC?s, Drives, HMI?s, other required components. Strong working knowledge of sensors, robots and end of arm tooling.o Design machines and equipment; mechanical design and enclosure layouts for electrical hardware. Design fixtures and tooling.o Document designs; proficient with CAD and other computer tools.o Lead project technicians and toolmakers; coordinate with appropriate engineers.o Follow project from conception to startup; commissioning of new manufacturing/assembly/processing equipment in a team environment.6. Assist in the preparation of the annual capital requirement listing. Write and justify capital equipment in accordance with ME procedures.7. Ability to interface effectively with all levels and functions of personnel. Requirements: Qualifications:Education Required: BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4 year college or university. Experience Required: 5-7 years in machine design and programming Preferred: 7+ years designing, developing and implementing complex machine/electro-mechanical automation systems.Special Knowledge/Skills:Microsoft Office Products Ability to program using a language such as C+ or Visual Basic Programming experience with Allen Bradley and other PLC?s.
