Manual and CNC Machinists (Shifts 1 and 2)

Position reports to:  Machine Shop Group Leader

Manual Machinists

Position Summary:  Position is responsible for the operation of production machines and tools, as assigned, and the performance of set-up requirements for machines for routine and complex task assignments. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

·  Operates machines assigned to, including lathes, mills, and drill processors

·  Sets up assigned machine(s) with assistance to proper specifications

·  Performs work on assigned machine(s) to tolerances working from blueprints and instructions and uses precision measuring equipment

·  Machines parts efficiently and accurately to comply with Company standards for quality

·  Maintains records regarding work processes as required

·  Cleans and performs routine service to assigned machine(s) and maintains work area in clean and orderly condition

·  Maintains and uses hand tools necessary to perform job assignments

 

Position Requirements:

·  Prefer high school diploma or the equivalent certification

·  Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measuring instruments

·  Prefer previous machining/manufacturing experience and use of hand tools

·  Has mathematical ability to perform basic calculations

 

 

CNC Machinists

 

Position Summary:  Responsible for the operation of a Computer Numerical Control machine to fabricate parts for production, including loading parts into machine, cycling machine, observing any malfunctions in the machine’s operations. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

·  Performs typical machine shop operations, detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to Group Leader

·  Performs any of the following tasks:  milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sanding, and inspections of machined products, including documenting the results

·  Completes and maintains paperwork for parts, as well as maintains clean, orderly work area and equipment following required safety procedures

 

Position Requirements:

·  Prefer high school diploma or equivalent certificate, or graduation from certified technical school

·  Prefer 1 – 4 years’ related experience

·  Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic hand-held measuring tools

·  Effective verbal and written communication skills
