Manager of Tooling operations
Tooling Operations Manager
Solid Concepts, a world leader in Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing, is searching for a Tooling Operations Manager/Engineer to manage complex projects for our Fortune 500 customers. Customer projects relate to injection mold tooling, compression mold tooling, die casting and sheet metal of aerospace products, business machines, consumer products, electronics and medical products. This position is in our Gilbert AZ facility.
The applicant must have extensive experience with, Injection Mold Tooling and manufacturing, and excellent personal/communications skills. Also, you must be able to handle multiple projects that are scheduled for rapid turnaround times.
The ideal candidate will also have:
· Minimum of 15 years exposure to Injection Molding Environment, both Tooling and Production Processing
· Proven Previous Managerial Experience in the Tooling and Production Setting
· Experience in setting up Flow systems, Project Tracking Systems and resource allocation.
· P/L responsibilities experience
· Managing of 4-7 Tooling Project Engineers and 2-3 Project Coordinators
· Experience with Far East Tooling Companies and Personnel
· Experience with Low Volume Tooling as well as Production Tooling
· Knowledge of Part Design, Mold Construction, Thermoplastics, Project Management
· Must be able to read 2D Drawings as well as 3D Solid Models
· History of working with Customers and Sales Force with the ability to identify needs
and provide creative technical solutions
· Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
· Excellent organizational skills, and attention to details
· Experience with Far East Tooling
· Ability to travel with Sales Force for technical/sales support
· Computer Skills to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Cad Software
Job duties will include:
Consulting with customers on all aspects of product development.
Recommending development and manufacturing methods.
Putting together pricing and quotes for in-house and subcontracted products.
Contract review and negotiations.
Coordinating all manufacturing activities to meet customer requirements
Coordinating all activities between US Customers and Far East Manufacturing
Supervising the work of Project Engineers and Coordinators both in US and Far East
