Manager, State & Local Tax

Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance       Job Description   Position Summary:This position reports Senior Manager State and Local Taxes. The position is located in Princeton, NJ. Critical Skills:The successful candidate must be able to:- Determine nexus and identify filing requirements by legal entity to ensure tax compliance in all 50 states and other local jurisdictions in the US. - Assist in the preparation and review of multi-state corporate income, franchise tax returns including coordinating, gathering and analyzing apportionment data and other supporting data from internal and external sources.- Develop audit ready files to support current year returns.- Calculate state estimated tax payments and extension payments.- Assist with the development of tax planning strategies to minimize state and local tax liabilities for current operations as well as acquisitions and divestitures.- Respond to and resolve state tax notices. - Provide M&A assistance as needed.- Assist in the development and support of state tax audit positions.Core Competencies:- State Income / Franchise Tax: 100% - Compliance: 60% - Audit/Notices: 20% - Planning: 10% - Tax Accounting: 10%- Working knowledge of FAS109.- Superior written and oral communication skills.- Detail oriented.- Strong time management & organizational skills.- CORPTax experience preferred.Requirements: Education / Work Experience Required:- Minimum 5 years of multi-state tax experience.- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or other financial discipline required: CPA or advanced degree a plus.Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend View all "Tyco" jobs Learn more about Tyco
