Manager, Shipping and Receiving

Manages and coordinates activities of workers engaged in performing duties in the Shipping, Receiving and TekChek Departments.  Accountable for the logistics preparation of shipments, the receiving of incoming products, outbound product quality and the execution of all internal procedures related to inbound and outbound shipments.  This position is responsible for leading their department to achieve established goals and driving continuous improvement in their business processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages process and department performance for outbound order quality, compliance quality, and product technical quality after manufacturing (TekChek). Creates and/or maintains documented work procedures for all functions performed within their department. Manages the transportation schedule for both receiving and shipments of products.  Maximizes efficiencies in manpower across all areas of responsibility. Prepares documents for bills of lading, shipping notification documents, import/export documents, and other required documents related to transportation. Manages incoming shipping activities to ensure accuracy of purchase order, completeness, return material aurthorization, and the condition of shipments.  Manages procedures and people to resolve exceptions to the receiving requirements (Quarantine). Develops standard metrics and dashboard for incoming and outbound shipments.  Initiates continuous improvement programs to improve metrics and supplier performance. Works with vendors through Purchasing department to develop supplier initiatives.  Manages vendors or service providers as assigned. Determines space requirements and forecasts warehouse requirements for shipments and the internal demand of ordered products. Inspects the outbound loading operations to ensure compliance to shipment specifications. Inspects and maintains material handling equipment for defects.  Maintains certification for employees using material equipment and conducts regular training. Manages customs clearance procedures to ensure timely deliveryto ATI and its customers. Manages processes to resolve inventory discrepancies related to finished goods or received product. May assist workers with shipping and receiving job responsibilities. Studies both inbound and outbound shipping procedures utilizing industry knowledge to determine best practices and implements change to improve process efficiency and cost. Manages the day to day operations of the department, employees, and their job objectives. Other duties as assigned.

Managers / Supervisors / Team Leaders must: Ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees, visitors and contractors within your area of control. Ensure all relevant sections of the Health and Safety Management plans are implemented and understood. Assess, review the effectiveness and consult with their team on any proposed changes of the OSHA Management System and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Ensure accident / incident investigations are conducted to determine their causes and take appropriate corrective action as required. Ensure injured workers are rehabilitated and an early return to the workplace is achieved. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislative requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration, or its equivalent.  Advanced degree is desirable.Experience: Requires five to seven years of experience, which included at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Industry experience with an emphasis in transportation, packaging, receiving/warehousing and inventory management. Experience with quality control processes such as Lean Six Sigma and Six Sigma Greenbelt certifications are desirable. Knowledge of shipping products via ground, sea and air; knowledge of proper packaging, labels, and documents for domestic and international shipments.

Must possess business acumen; knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, strategies and tactics work in the marketplace, yet flexible to learn best practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management. Must be an aggressive change agent and hands-on leader with a passion for employee well-being; must be a self-starter, team player, and relationship builder. Must be self-motivated and self-disciplined. Must be a creative, forward, positive thinker. Must be team, goal and results oriented with an emphasis on being organized and detail oriented. Must have strong communication skills, be able to work independently and be team oriented.  Must be willing to work extended hours and a variable work schedule to meet other department's objectives. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to obtain gaming licenses with the Nevada Gaming Control Board NGCB, a Passport and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information regardint the company, company products and employee information.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands: Assigned duties are accomplished primarily in an office/production/warehouse setting.  Must be able to manuever around an office/production setting, work at a desk/work station and respond to written and oral cues. Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office/production equipment. May be required to bend, reach and lift up to 25 lbs.
