Manager, Product Compliance
The Product Compliance Manager will serve as the subject matter expert, providing guidance to Engineering, Operations, Quality, Sales, and Marketing teams regarding applicable national, international, and industry codes and standards. Individual will coordinate with internal teams, as well as outside organizations, such as ASSE, ANSI, IAPMO, CSA, ASME, ASTM, UL, and ACMA, to ensure that Bradley products are current with the appropriate industry standards. Support, research, analyze, and interpret all codes and standards pertinent to our industry and Bradley product lines. This position is the primary contact and oversees all codes, regulations and standards for all existing products as well as new product innovations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Review standards with other departmental specialists to assure consistency with existing standards and those in other specialized disciplines.
o Communicate with management of organization to maintain knowledge of current and proposed projects in order to develop appropriate standards for design and production of new products. Represent Bradley on cross-functional teams to ensure that codes and standards compliance are built into the business’ New Product Development and operations processes.
o Communicate with users to confirm knowledge of standards and the cooperation of various project groups.
o Defines and specifies codes and standards for company products.
o Must be a self-starter with organizational, managerial and leadership skills. Focuses efforts in organizing, documenting, and interpreting codes and standards documents and records for company products.
o Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface at all levels of the organization. Will conduct presentation of complex technical information associated with codes and standards.
o Familiarity with and ability to stay current regarding changing regulatory requirements
o Evaluates data in scientific journals, suppliers’ catalogs, government standards documents, and other sources of information on materials, processes, and parts to update knowledge of available resources.
o Proactively participate on select industry committees deemed most important to the Company’s future and influence codes and standards to the degree possible. Ensure Bradley’s compliance to such codes and standards going forward.
o Responsible for identifying, interpreting, and applying industry codes and standards to the design of products
o Follows established procedures for retention of data developed to assure optimum storage and retrieval by manual or automated methods.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably BSME,) science or related degree and five (5) to eight (8) years related experience interpreting local, national and international building codes, especially for plumbing fixtures and/or training; ore equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to assess the application of codes and standards to new product design and obtain and maintain agency certifications. Will require 25%-35% travel.
