Manager Materials
An international manufacturing corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Materials at our manufacturing plant. This job is responsible for optimizing the administration of materials and finished products, by coordinating the involved activities including material supply, inventory control, traffic and customs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·Inventory Control: Plans and requisitions component parts to achieve the Master Schedule and service requirements. Coordinates with any other facilities to forecast any remanufactured product requirements. Requisitions all purchases/inter-factory orders as well as expediting based on weekly MRP output. Evaluates and controls MRP parameters including order policies, multiple order quantities, scrap factors, safety stock, minimums and maximums.
·Production Planning: Measures adherence to all planned schedules. Resolves any critical issues. Coordinates, evaluates and implements engineering changes and establishes appropriate effective dates. Analyzes the final assembly schedules to determine parts availability and resolves conflicts to those schedules. Analyzes potential parts short falls and adjusts production schedules accordingly.
·Traffic: Coordinates shipping efforts, insuring the plant(s) meets necessary production outputs on time.
·Other responsibilities as assigned or required.
Experience Required:Experience in a manufacturing or global manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization as well as vendors and customers.
Education/Training Required:Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Materials Management, Business, Management or related degree.APICS Certification preferred as well as experience in MRP II Manufacturing Systems.
