Manager, Internal Audit

Manager, Internal Audit   Perform complex, value added professional internal auditing work. Planning and execution of operational and financial audit projects; provide input to development of Annual Audit Plan; provide training and supervision to Internal Audit staff. Ability to function independently under general supervision with latitude for initiative and independent judgment.   Other duties include: Identify and evaluate risk areas and provide input to the development of the Annual Audit Plan. Identify audit projects and participate in the scheduling thereof. Assist in development of standard audit procedures. Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures. Conduct interviews, review documents, develop and administer surveys, compose summary memos, and prepare working papers. Identify, develop, and document issues and recommendations Communicate results of audit projects via written reports and oral presentations. Develop and maintain client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings. Pursue development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships; share information gained with co-workers. Provide guidance to staff in conducting audits, usage of tools, and other audit-related issues. Perform related work as assigned by audit management. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Six or more years of experience in auditing, accounting, or similar backbround Graduate degree in business administration, public administration or a related field, or a second certification (CIA, CPA, or CISA) may each substitute for one year of required experience. Three or more years supervisory or project management experience. Additional demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities: Applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices, management principles and preferred business practices. Advanced knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the IIA. Knowledge of fraud, forensics, and detection techniques. Advanced knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts and practices. Understanding of industry program policies, procedures, regulations and laws and standard audit tools. Skill in conducting quality control reviews of audit work products. Experience collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions. Ability to negotiate issues and resolve problems. Skill using a computer to prepare reports, memos, summaries and analyses. Planning and project management skills; ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure Possess effective verbal and written communications, including presentation skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, and external contacts. Ability to motivate and lead staff to the successful execution of an audit project.   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Industry auditing and accounting experience. Manufacturing/inventory experience a plus or any M&A experience. Professional Certification, i.e. CPA, CIA, CISA preferred.
