HelpDesk/DataCenter/SAP Basis Manager

This manager works closely with an outsourced provider (H-P) of IT Help Desk and Datacenter operations staff to leverage existing IT products and services. The manager will work to identify and implement improvement opportunities, while developing the long-term strategy for providing customer-centric IT support services that are aligned with both the short-term and long-term needs of PolyOne. This manager will also have budgetary, project management and performance responsibilities for the SAP Basis team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the H-P relationship, including acting as the day-to-day liaison to the IT Helpdesk/Datacenter Operations staff - Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of PolyOne's existing Help Desk
- Operations environment and develop alternatives
- Define a GLOBAL long-term strategy that creates a customer-centric support environment for users of IT products and services
- Create a customer-centric culture for all areas of responsibilities and the IT department as a whole
- Identify and leverage opportunities that bring immediate improvements to end user IT support services
- Define, implement and document all policies and procedures for DataCenter Operations
- Organize, plan and assign tasks and projects to meet business requirements
- Deliver performance feedback, coaching and mentoring
- Foster teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally
- Manage to budget - Perform root cause analysis to eliminate recurring problems
- May perform other duties as assigned or required by the business

Required Education:
-Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or related business field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience in managing a HelpDesk and DataCenter Operations; global experience is preferred
- Experience with HelpDesk software solutions
- Strong internal customer service orientation
- Strong improvement orientation - Strong process orientation
- Proven experience in coaching and developing team members
- Proven project management skills utilizing tools and established methodologies
- Proven financial/budget management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills required
- Vendor management skills -
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual a plus

Required Length & Type of Experience:
- 4 years of IT HelpDesk or other highly customer-centric work experience, supporting local and remote users at domestic and international locations. Leadership experience should include both project management responsibilities and responsibility for coordinating the efforts of others.
- SAP Basis experience a plus
-This position requires 24/7 availability, including use of a cell phone off hours support and weekend on-call status.
- This position may require travel (10%)
