We have an opportunity available for a Manager IT - Global Development at our Detroit Technology Center in Detroit, MI.
Overview:  The Manager IT - Global Development is a key element to support the IT Financial & Administrative Applications area in the implementation of worldwide strategies for global business processes integration through information systems and technologies The IT Financial & Administrative Applications area is the channel that interacts with Corporate and Business Groups functional areas for Finance, Human Resources, Communications and Sales & Marketing capturing its requirements, understanding the business processes and information needs and develops and deploys information systems solutions that add value to the business by improving operational excellence, enhancing the decision support processes and improving collaboration tools. He/She is responsible for understanding and evaluating complex business functions and processes, information systems implementation methodologies, industry standards and best practices, automotive industry trends and emerging technologies, etc., and melding these to form a set of comprehensive and coherent plans to support and further the business in its endeavors. The major focus areas include: *        Alignment with requirements derived from the Business Strategy Review process developed by Information Technology department*        IT Strategic Planning *        Business Processes Management and optimization*        Master Data Management  Principle Accountabilities: Coordinate activities of the global application development team, including technical design, code development, and testing. *        Ensure compliance to SDLC standards. *        Establish and enforce standard development processes across the application areas and within the application areas.*        Assist the functional and regional IT leads to address level 2 & level three support requests (i.e. bug fixes and patches).*        Adhere to SLA's using metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the development organization.Liaises with functional IT leads to understand current and emerging needs, requirements (Business & Functional) & business case scenarios.Work with business functions and IT leads to validate new business solutions and system enhancements to ensure satisfactory integration with legacy processes and ensure quality systems, audit trial and quality awards are not compromised.Develop high level project plan and manages software development projects for new applications and system enhancements, ensuring successful business process integration.Coordinates user acceptance testing with functional areas and IT organizationCoordinates post implementation review/close outDevelops on-going system health checks or auditsSupport data harmonization and master data management initiatives.Remains current on new technology and suggests solutions that may be of value to business  Skills and Abilities:Technical understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Ability to manage global internal and external resourcesStrong manager of people and processesExcellent analytical and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively with people with varying degrees of technical experienceUnderstanding of the ERP and PDM development environmentsStrong understanding of various software development languages, including Java, .Net, HTML, ASP.NetStrong understanding of RDBMS, including SQL Server and Oracle.
