Manager, Equipment Engineering

Job Title:  Equipment Engineering Manager

 

Education:  BS in Engineering required, MS in Engineering and/or Business   degree desired

 

Experience Desired: 10 years of facilities Engineering/Management preferred with mid-size to large facilities

 

Primary Responsibilities:Manage and direct all equipment maintenance activities through data driven predictive, preventive and rebuild maintenance programs that assure maximum equipment uptime for production to meet customer expectations for complete and on-time delivery without excessive inventory.  Manage and direct all facilities related maintenance activities to provide a safe, clean, comfortable work environment (Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fans, janitorial services, snow removal, landscaping, grounds keeping, ability to keep floors and equipment clean, etc.) and meets all local codes and requirementsManage and direct continuous cost improvement programs that deliver measurable improvements for energy efficiency, spare parts inventories, equipment productivity and life.Maintain plant layouts for all equipment with specific asset designations and assure that all equipment locations meet OSHA requirements for clearances.  Working with manufacturing engineers and production supervisors, facilitate Lean Manufacturing concepts for all plant manufacturing areas.Work closely with Safety Manager to assure compliance with all OSHA requirements (equipment guarding, noise, air, etc.)Assure that the facilities achieve the most favorable fire insurance rates.Participate in all new equipment decisions to assure energy consumption meets facilities ability, maintenance manuals and training are provided prior to installation, and equipment is designed for anticipated durability requirementsCoordinate the installation and commissioning of all new equipment.Manage and direct Tool Room operations for the facility.Manage and direct the Environmental Supervisor and associated staff.  Assure that the company meets all local, state, and federal EPA and emission requirements.Manage and direct security operations for the facility to provide a safe, secure work environment and eliminate theft and property damage Manage and direct all facility expansion projects as the Project Manager for that expansion to make sure it meets all company and regulatory requirements

 Reports to: Director of Engineering

Skills Required:Excellent communication and inter-personal skills to work with a broad cross-section of employees, contract services, and regulatory agencies (communication, teamwork, coaching, documentation, etc.)Excellent supervisory skills to lead and develop people within their organization including performance reviews and disciplinary action if requiredProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project Manager) and other maintenance management software
