Description:Eaton Corporation located in Galesburg, Michigan has an opening for a Manager - Environmental Health and Safety.This position provides environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to Galesburg campus and Truck operations at Marshall and Southfield. Position also provides unique and substantial support for Truck EHS process including leadership assignment with a strategic subteam. Success is defined through the attainment and continual improvement of metrics.This positions primary functions include:- Facilitating process and provides technical and administrative leadership to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and MESH requirements.- Choosing fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of managing natural resources and waste to improve environmental conditions in the community. - Continuously identifying, assessing, and reducing/eliminating EHS risk (including security).- Continuously deploying methods of reducing our environmental footprint. - Establishing and maintaining relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data. - Directing and/or supporting development and deployment of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration, VPP).- Complying with Eatons ethics policy and keeping management informed of issues associated with regulatory compliance.- Providing for timely EHS training of employees. - Investigating incidents and accidents to determine root causes and preparing/directing corrective action plans.- Integrating and supporting Corporate and Regional EHS initiatives designed to drive best practices across Eaton.- Directing development, maintenance, and achievement of strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world-class performance.- Encouraging employee involvement in EHS activities.Qualifications:This position requires:- Four (4) year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent.- Relevant advanced degree preferred - Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or country equivalent).- 5+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety program management and employee training.
