Manager, District Sales

The primary responsibility of the District Sales Manager is to take responsibility for all of the Roots sales efforts within a defined territory.  Secondary responsibility is to manage and oversee the Roots sales efforts of distributors and representatives within a defined territory.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities – Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks; good oral and written communication skills; excellent spelling and grammar; detail oriented with ability to accurately proof own work; excellent phone etiquette; strong interpersonal skills; customer service oriented; ability to work with minimal or no supervision.  Other attributes required are: good character; positive attitude; ability to solve problems; possesses follow-up skills; self confident; willingness to accept responsibility; interpersonal skills; presentation skills; competitiveness; strategic skills; eager for self improvement and training; sense of humor; analytical facility; good judgment; and love of selling.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Sell large rotary lobe blower and centrifugal compressor packages directly on large projects within a territory. 

 

Maintain existing and gain new Original Equipment Manufacturer (O.E.M.) accounts within a territory.

 

Manage, train and assist the sales efforts of stocking distributors in a territory.

 

Manage, train and assist the sales efforts of Manufacturer’s Representatives in a territory.

 

Increase territory real business growth at a mutually (between Regional Manager and District Sales Manager) agreed upon rate per year.

 

Participate and help coordinate the sales efforts for Roots products involving other territories and other salesmen.

 

Complete all required reports and submit them on time.

 

Education:

 

B.S. Engineering or B.A. Business

 

B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (preferred)

 

Travel Required: 

 

50%-80% annually
