Manager, Applications Engineering
We currently have an opening in our Customer Service Tech Support department for a Manager of Applications Engineering. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and day-to-day operations for the Customer Service Tech Support department. This position is accountable for insuring that drawings and support documentation for products and projects are accurate, understandable and are completed in a timely manner. Major Functions: 1. Develops, reviews and revises Applications Engineering procedures/practices to ensure that drawings and documentation for each product and project reflect the intent of the projects supporting documents, are consistent with the mechanical drawings, blueprints and specifications, and depict equipment which can be manufactured in the most cost effective manner, while performing the intended purpose.2. Assists in product conception and product development through the PAC process.3. Assigns Applications Engineers and Applications Specialists to special projects as required4. Tracks call volumes and CRM data, assists in developing and maintaining an effective CRM system.5. Trains and assists Application Engineers, Application Specialists, and Technical Support personnel.6. Assists sales, engineering and field service on technical and engineering issues.7. Reviews, schedules and assigns projects to the Applications Engineers and Applications Specialists and monitor the projects due dates to ensure the timely turnaround of commitments.8. Reviews and checks projects prior to product release to production in order to ensure accuracy, consistency and manufacturability. 9. Provides product training and facilitates educational programs using inside Leviton resources and outside educational establishments to improve department knowledge.10. Carries out the staff’s annual performance review, set goals and objectives and monitor the progress. Skills & Abilities: Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate resources/projects to attain maximum efficiency and cost-effective productivity Must have excellent technical problem solving skills Ability to conduct training, seminars and presentations to groups, both within and outside of the organization Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Access for Windows Ability to work in a team based environment Education & Experience: A Bachelors degree in a Business or Engineering discipline A minimum of 10 years of installation experience in the electrical line and low voltage fields with management level experience A basic knowledge of electronics Must be familiar with the National Electrical Code and UL listing Travel: 25% We offer an excellent benefits & compensation package, including 100% tuition reimbursement, on-site training & development, and a company-paid pension plan.
