Maintenance Multicraft Technician

Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as EVG, Mat Welders, Slitters, Welding Machines, Hoist and Cranes, presses, forklifts, etc.Primary responsibilities of Maintenance Multicraft Mechanic include repair, preventive maintenance, and installation of new machinery.Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, computer-controlled systems, and production machines and equipment.Adjust and calibrate automated manufacturing equipment.Following a checklist, they may inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions. Maintenance and repair workers keep records of their work.Troubleshooting/diagnosing problems and determining the best way to correct them.May set up and/or operate plant production type of equipment at any time for the amount of time required to perform work of non-production nature necessary to the performance of maintenance duties such as saws, lift trucks, etc.Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, operate efficiently, and the physical condition does not deteriorate.Cleaning and lubricating machinery, performing basic diagnostic tests, checking performance, and testing damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.Performs job functions using safe work practices; required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations as well as participate in the overall safety effort.Obtain supplies and repair parts from distributors or storerooms.
Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:High school education or GEDMinimum 5 years in-shop experienceUse of common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as specialized and precision measuring equipment and electronic testing devices.
Preferred Qualifications:2-year associate degree programs at community or technical college desired.Vocational school courses in mathematics and geometry, blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, metalworking, drafting and quality and safety practices are highly recommended.Thorough knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems, basic electrical circuitry, and basic knowledge of PLC control systems.Thorough knowledge of blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
