Machinery Maintenance Mechanic

Installation/Maintenance/Repair Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Machinery Maintenance Mechanic Description: The ideal candidate for this position will have a variety of skills needed for general plant maintenance. Among other qualities, this person must demonstrate a strong aptitude with industrial wiring, hydraulics, mechanical systems, and/or machining coupled with a willingness to learn. This person will also be required to perform the maintenance of tooling as well as equipment. This job will include coordinating other employees work effort, by the instructions of all supervision. This position requires self-motivation, computer knowledge, precise record keeping, outstanding attendance, the ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics, and strong math skills. The employee will be expected to make judgments, quick decisions and act upon those decisions. The position requires the employee to be able to work odd hours, holidays, weekends, shifts, and overtime as necessary. Applicants must be able to work in extreme temperature variations, and adverse working conditions. The employee must be able to work in high places and close areas. This position requires heavy lifting(100lbs.) and excellent hand-eye coordination. The employee will be expected to work alone and be able to spot trouble and call for help if something is wrong, even under stressful conditions. Requirements: Must be able to maintain all the equipment in the facility and maintain an orderly and safe work area. Assist employees with questions and problems associated with the equipment, determine and suggest most efficient manufacturing methods. General plant maintenance requires, steel work-sheet metal, structural, welding & cutting. Press Setup-mechanical hydraulic & tool holders. Manual & CNC machine tools-lathe, mill, drill & saws. Electrical-general wiring & motor troubleshooting, reading & understanding schematics & ladder logic. Pipe fitting-compressed air, gas water, & hydraulic systems. Mechanical drive repair, mechanical troubleshooting & repair. Hydraulic & pneumatic troubleshooting & repair. Brick laying(kiln repair) & carpentry. Person will be on call and required to respond within 2 hours of call.
