Machine Technician

Sets up, adjusts & operates automated equipment to obtain maximum throughput with zero defects. Follows scheduling requirements to properly sequence set-ups and prepare products for production filling operations. Provides instructions and direction to assigned employees. Responsible for care and operation of assigned equipment. Performs various checks on equipment and product to ensure product quality and proper line operation. Adjusts process to correct abnormal conditions in equipment or product. Notifies supervisor and/or maintenance if assistance is needed. Confirms product labels are correct meeting all customer requirements, and communicates with the Labeling Department prior to packaging production to correct discrepancies. Drives the forklift to move, set up, and store bulk material. Trains other employees as required. Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and procedures at all times. Performs other tasks as assigned. At least three years of directly applicable experience. Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English. Must have general knowledge of Panel View and Equipment Operation Controls. Must be able to accurately interpret and follow instructions provided by operational manuals or company procedures or guidelines. Must be able to accurately interpret and apply equipment settings requiring basic knowledge of mathematics, percentages, fractions and decimals to set equipment flow rates and volume specifications. Must be able to use hand and power tools with or without reasonable accommodation. Must possess required mechanical skills and abilities to perform set up, maintenance and parts cleaning tasks. Must be able to obtain and retain a forklift operator's certificate. Must be able to use and wear all required PPE equipment and clothing with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires the use of or access to information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
