DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·  Under direct supervision, provides assistance in the performance of various routine purchasing assignments and planning of production materials for internal machine shop.

·  Assists in the quotation and procurement of supplies, raw materials, and equipment necessary for the operation of the organization.

·  Plans, schedules, and monitors materials through production.

·  Evaluates vendor reliability.

·  Places orders for equipment maintenance, tools and equipment

·  Manages outside processing (OSP), fills out OSP requisitions, logs and tracks OSP orders and arranges for pick-up & delivery, provides daily status reports.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

·  Some lifting may be required to carry out assignments

·  has the ability to read/interpret blueprints to complete assigned tasks

·  Typically requires a college degree or equivalent and 2 to 4 years experience in a machine shop environment.

·  Working knowledge of Excel

·  Working knowledge of Shop floor control programs for a job shop
