Job Summary:

Leads all machine design aspects of the creation of custom designed machines and equipment for Perbix customers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:Leads all aspects of the creation of concepts, designs, layouts, and assemblies for equipment and machines for Perbix customers.Acts as a direct contact to the customer for all technical aspects regarding the machine design.Schedules and conducts design reviews.Designs and documents all equipment-related sub-systems including pneumatic systems, process control systems, logic and operation plans, plumbing systems, and small wiring and power systems.Leads a team to design and develop machine process instrumentation and control systems including PLC control, PC control, custom software, machine interface, database management, and integration into existing customers manufacturing control systems.Determines, specifies, and where required, develops all machine sensors, and input/output devices.Completes proper CAD documentation of equipment designs, detail drawing, bills of material, and as-built drawings for use in estimating, fabrication, and equipment installations.Conducts machine and process experimentation and development.Identifies all areas within a machine design requiring analysis.  Conducts and records engineering calculations and analysis and prepares technical reports regarding machine performance and design decisions.Consults with, and develops and leads interactive design teams consisting of design co-workers, assembly, fabrication, and sales.Assists in de-bug, start-up, and installation when needed.Promotes Perbix Machine Company, motivates others within the company, and projects a positive approach to all job functions and interactions.Knows, understands, and follows all company standard operating procedures.Maintains accurate and current project records.Enhances technical knowledge through courses, seminars, and/or professional society involvement.  Reviews trade magazines and journals and stays current on technology. Maintains a current and broad knowledge of multiple CAD systems.Specifies and evaluates commercial components.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science in an applicable engineering field from an accredited university and greater than five years of job experience related directly to machine design.
