MECHANIC A - TECH GROUP

GENERAL
The Technical Group Mechanic A, as a member of the Technical Group, has the primary responsibility to provide support for all crane assembly, test, installation and commissioning activities relating to the Crane Manufacturing business area. In addition the incumbent must also provide support to other Technical Group functions, e.g. Engineering Services and International Services, as required.

It is mandatory for the incumbent to be familiar with the requirements of the Quality Management System and to take an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Company’s Quality Program. The adherence to the Company’s Quality Procedures and allied systems is required to maintain quality standards to API Q1.

The incumbent must be fully conversant with the requirements of the Company’s Safety Policy and take an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Safety Management System, ensuring that the health and safety arrangements are being effectively applied by all subordinates.

The incumbent must adopt a cooperative attitude towards being assigned alternative or additional duties to those for which they are primarily employed.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration

Monitoring and reporting of Project Time-Writing.

Responsible for maintaining suitable records of all activities under direct responsibility.

 

Main Processes

Build-up/Assembly and testing of Diesel-Hydraulic and Electric-Hydraulic Pedestal Cranes.

Installation and Commissioning of Pedestal Cranes.

Implementation of crane upgrade, modification, and inspection projects.

Actively assist in the training of  B, C, and Trainee level mechanics.

Actively assist in the ECR and PCR processes.


Communication

Liaison with Crane Assembly Group team members to ensure project milestones / deadlines are met.

Liaison with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and company staff as required

REQUIRED SKILLS:
1.) Operate all material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.)
2.) Must have the ability to perform tasks independently.
3.) Must have thorough knowledge of API2C and RP2D and 9A Specifications.
4.) Must have hydraulic and diesel experience.
5.) Must be a Qualified Operator/Rigger
6.) Must have own hand tools.
7.) Must be able to travel offshore and overseas.
