MATERIALS SCHEDULER
Materials Scheduler
Materials Scheduler position also requires the ability to follow through with assignments having little supervision and a teamwork attitude. This person must have flexibility for working weekends and holidays.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain a working rapport with customers, suppliers, carriers and production personnel necessary for seamless assembly to meet customer requirements.Monitor and update customer interactive inventory management systems (e.g. Ford DDL, ILVS, Chrysler CSDS and Drive). Answer shortage and launch screens, maintain contact info and update packaging data with the release of new part numbers.Ensure continuous flow of material while minimizing inventory and transportation costs. Provide production department with the material required to perform operations.Review and process customer/supplier releases.Investigate, review, and approve all adjustments to material requirements to or from the customer/supplier.Initiate and coordinate premium transportation with customer/supplier manufacturing department, and shipping/receiving department. Prepare obsolescence claims/documentation.Carry out assigned functions described in policies, procedures, and quality manuals. Schedule production work cells with a continuous flow environment in mind.Work toward a 100% delivery performance environment.Assist in plant physical inventories.Be a team player that desires to perform more than just bare minimum requirements.Possess a “can do attitude” in the face of hurdles. Make recommendations and suggestions that promote Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing throughout the organization.Flexible work schedule for holiday and weekend customer coverage.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND EXPERIENCE
High School/trade school degree or equivalent required.Two years experience in materials function, preferably with a tier 2 supply base company.College degree preferred. APICS related credits preferred.
