Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Contact Information Reference Code: 2159 Job Description MATERIALS MANAGER The primary focus of this key position is to lead the Materials team that is responsible for Planning, Procurement, Shipping & Receiving/Incoming Verification, and Stockroom activities.  As Materials Manager we offer the opportunity for you to put your experiences to work in a professional environment with a dynamic team.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in decision-making, flexibility, planning and organizing, self-initiative and interpersonal skills.   Responsibilities:   Provides direct daily supervision to a staff of Buyers, Planners, Master Scheduling Supervisor, Stockroom Supervisor and Shipping Supervisor. Leads the Materials team with key focus on Incoming Quality, On Time Supplier Delivery as well as playing a key role with On Time Customer Shipments, Cost Reduction initiatives, Lead Time/Cycle Time Reduction initiatives, and Inventory Reduction Goals. Must show demonstrated results in each area. Must be a leader and change agent with the companywide Lean Manufacturing implementation effort. Daily to weekly interface with Sales, Engineering, Production Management, and Corporate Supply Chain team. Participate with Engineering during the design development stage to ensure Supply Chain capability and capacity supports the needs of the project. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, communicates well up and down the organization, and self-navigates through assignments and tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to develop and improve processes, tools, and methodologies, share best practices, and to perform training to increase staff capability. Must be metric/data driven and relate evidence of key metrics along with actions taken based on data collected.   Requirements:   Bachelors Degree in Business or related Sciences a must. MBA or MS in related sciences a strong plus. CPIM or C.P.M required. Both certifications and additional related certifications a strong plus. Candidate in new CSCP by APICS a big plus. 10+ years experience in a Supervisory, Leadership, or Management capacity. Strong negotiating skills. Heavy experience with mid to large scale ERP systems including integration experience with Kanban systems. Knowledge and prior active participation in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Process Improvement. Experience with ISO9000 requirements. Heavy experience in the electronics industry with a high mix/low volume preferred. Experience in managing Production Operations a plus. Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
